Spend Your Morning Enjoying Beverly Hills
Start Your Morning With an Upscale Breakfast in Beverly Hills
Start your morning off at a relaxed pace at the famed Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The Polo Lounge is a hot spot for celebrities and Hollywood deal-makers. You never know who you will see while enjoying a glamorous breakfast. Come dress to impress because the Polo Lounge has a dress code!
Go Classic or Modern
Visitors may also like a traditional low-key breakfast at Nate ‘n Al in the center of Beverly Hills or a delicious breakfast with typical California fare at The Farm.
Breakfast On the Go
For those who want a breakfast on the go, you might enjoy a croissant at Pascal Patisserie & Café. Since it is located close to a quiet neighborhood, you can stroll around admiring the beautiful houses while enjoying your croissant.
- Pro Tip
For a vegan option, you might check out Caumont Bakery & Café where there is separate bakery dedicated to you!
It’s Time to go Shopping in Beverly Hills
Beverly Hills is synonymous with glitz, glamour, and of course, world-renowned shopping. A stroll down Rodeo Drive quickly reveals high-end stores are all around you.
The most glamorous stores line the streets, enticing shoppers to splurge on gorgeous handbags, dazzling jewelry, and bespoke fashion! With flagship stores and private areas for VIPs, the retail in Beverly Hills is second to none.
Exclusive Shopping Experiences
For the ultra posh shopping experience, try the red carpet treatment with LaLaLuxe. During your shopping experience, you might discover hidden boutiques, have a private fitting, or work with a personal stylist. The sky is the limit!
Guests at the Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel, can feel like Pretty Woman for the day. Allow the concierge to arrange for a VIP shopping experience where you might take a behind the scenes tour of Rodeo Drive’s sought after fashion houses or shop with your own personal wardrobe consultant and stylist!
Affordable Shopping
The shopping does not end on Rodeo Drive. Visitors might enjoy shopping like a local. Visitors can find more affordable stores on Beverly Drive, south of Wilshire Blvd. This area offers a neighborhood experience with fewer crowds.
- Pro Tip
Not all shops and boutiques are open on Sundays. Generally, stores that are open on Sunday open their doors around noon.
It’s Time to Take a Lunch Break!
You have probably worked up an appetite by now! A couple of hours of walking and shopping can do that for you.
Lunch in Beverly Hills can be its own event. People like to get dressed up and enjoy a leisurely lunch with a glass of wine. Multiple restaurants in Beverly Hills are both delicious and offer a terrific ambiance.
To help you narrow down your choices, consider the type of food and experience you want to enjoy.
Causal and Trendy
Tucked away on a quiet neighborhood street, Viviane at the Avalon Hotel offers diners a retro poolside vibe with a wide variety of California fare. Gary and I had lunch at Viviane recently and were impressed with the menu options. Since we have such different palates (I like everything, and he is super picky), we were delighted there were entrées we were both excited to try.
I started lunch with the Quench Juice. It’s been a while since I’ve had a juice that was this good. The light flavors with a hint of natural sweetness were so good it was hard to put down! We also had avocado toast (one of my go-to dishes), fish tacos, and chocolate chip cookies for dessert. The well-balanced dishes were satisfying and tasty!
Sushi for Lunch
There are many sushi restaurants in Los Angeles. However, everyone, including me, loves Sugarfish. The quality of the fish and the warm rice is perfection! But, you really need to like sushi to enjoy Sugarfish. I would not recommend it for people who prefer a spicy tuna roll.
Iconic Beverly Hills Restaurants for Lunch
Wally’s has quickly become a go-to restaurant in Beverly Hills. The food is delicious, the wine is outstanding, and there is even a champagne and spirits cart on the weekends for fun!
Ocean Prime is an award-winning restaurant in the heart of Beverly Hills. The remarkable selection of seafood, prime cuts of steak, and signature cocktails lures diners over and over again.
Pamper Yourself While in Beverly Hills
After a little shopping and a good lunch, a little me time might be in order. Beverly Hills offers anything from upscale manicures, like those at Bellacures, to a full day of indulgence at a local spa.
Bellacures in Beverly Hills
I recently had a terrific manicure at Bellacures in Beverly Hills. I felt the good vibes the minute I walked in. The calming environment, mixed with thoughtful touches, put me at ease immediately. After being offered a beverage of choice (champagne, coffee, water), I was shown to my seat. The tools for my manicure came in a new package, as did the lotion and other accruements. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and cannot wait to go back! Especially since my manicure (natural, not gel) lasted more than ten days! Next time, I plan to indulge and try the seasonal special and get a pedicure!
Enjoy a Massage
Beverly Hills is home to world-renowned spas and discerning clientele who demand the best. You might opt for a facial or deep tissue massage at The Spa at Beverly Wilshire, a Four Seasons Hotel. Or, take the opportunity to try something more exotic like the La Prairie caviar facial at La Prairie Spa at the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills or the Oriental Massage at Tomoko that combines acupressure and stretching techniques for a therapeutic session.
Choose Your Own Adventure
After a massage, you might want to participate in a light activity or relax with a glass of wine. You have a few options to keep that tranquil feeling.
Enjoy an Afternoon Lite Bite and a Drink
Beverly Hills offers multiple places to grab a drink and a snack before dinner.
Rooftop by JG
The Rooftop by JG at the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills offers unmatched Beverly Hills and Hollywood views in a serene garden-inspired setting. While there is no happy hour menu, you can still grab a craft cocktail and a bite to eat as you watch the sun fade behind the clouds.
Enjoy a Walk in the Park – Arts and Culture
The Beverly Hills Arts and Culture Commission has created Fine Art Walking Tours that visitors can do at their leisure. There are over fifty works of art and more than fifteen galleries throughout Beverly Hills.
Even if you don’t have time to see all fifty plus pieces, you can still see a few impressive works in the Beverly Hills Sculpture Garden. A pleasant walk through the park reveals impressive works such as Takeaway, The Drummer, Peace and Love, and more!
Do-It-Yourself Walking Tours
The Fine Art Tour is one of the many tours created for visitors to do at their convenience. If you have extra time, you might enjoy one of the following tours provided by the Beverly Hills Conference & Visitors Bureau:
- Art & Culture
- Sweet Treats
- Wine Tours
- A Day with the Family
- A Step Back in History
- Seen on Screen
- Gallery Guide
If these tours are not for you, check out one of these Beverly Hills tours.
Posh High Tea
I love high tea! Who can say no to the little sandwiches, freshly brewed tea, and an array of delectable desserts?
Not surprisingly, Beverly Hills has multiple places to enjoy high tea.
The Living Room at the Peninsula Hotel
You can spend a lovely afternoon enjoying high tea at the Living Room in the Peninsula Hotel. A classical harpist sets the mood as you enjoy traditional yet elevated finger sandwiches, fresh-baked desserts, specialty teas, and champagne. You can also mix it up and try the dim sum menu!
Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel
If you didn’t have breakfast at the Polo Lounge, now is your chance to see what the fuss is about! You can indulge on lite bites expertly presented to satisfy both your sweet and savory cravings.
Enjoy a Fabulous Dinner in Beverly Hills
Beverly Hills offers so many delicious restaurants. I could write a separate blog post about the best places to have dinner in Beverly Hills.
While I cannot name every delicious restaurant in Beverly Hills, I want to highlight a few standouts.
Avra
Avra is an award winning seafood restaurant that has been drawing crowds for years. I enjoy Avra so much that I selected Avra to celebrate my birthday. The fresh fish is incredibly light and fresh. After you pick out your fish, you can select your preparation. I prefer a simple preparation to let the ingredients shine. A dinner would not be complete without the mouth-watering sides.
For Japanese and Asian flavors, you might want to try Matsushia, Nozawa Bar, or Crustacean.
Steak lovers will find expertly prepared dishes at Mastro’s or Cut.
Try Spago, Wolfgang Puck’s flagship restaurant, for an iconic Beverly Hills dinner. While the most famous dish, the salmon pizza, is not always on the menu, you can inquire about it when you sit down for dinner.
Italian enthusiasts might enjoy the romantic patio at II Cielo or Culina Ristorante + Caffe. While Culina is not technically in Beverly Hills, it’s so close that it’s worth an honorable mention.
An After Dinner Drink in Beverly Hills
After dinner, you can paint the town red with a drink at a local bar.
The Cigar and Whiskey Bar at The Maybourne Beverly Hills offers an intimate surrounding where you can try carefully selected whiskeys.
Mastro’s Penthouse is a hot spot for late-night dinner and after-dinner drinks.
Sprinkles (although not a bar) has a cupcake ATM. Head to Sprinkles to satisfy your craving for a late night sweet treat.
